Lækur Hostel & Guesthouse is a family-run business owned by brothers Björn and Alfreð, who share a love for creating a cozy, authentic Icelandic stay.Our name, Lækur (pronounced “Like…ur”), means a small river or stream - inspired by the hidden geothermal stream flowing beneath our street in Laugardalur, Reykjavík’s historic geothermal area.Our logo reflects the unique heritage windows of our building, a nod to the city’s architecture and history. Lækur is more than accommodation - it’s a small piece of Reykjavík’s story.
